SPRENGS CAMP IN ISRAEL - 2008 |
HOPE Intercultural
Center was established a year and a half ago with the purpose of
reaching the unbelievers of different ethnic groups. Through community service
(ESL, Russian, Hebrew classes), social and cultural activities (picnics,
concerts), ladies circle, individual meetings, seminars, Bible studies,
etc. we establish friendly relationships, which allows to witness about the
Messiah and His Salvation. Our vision is to become a global mission center
operating in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth (Acts, 1:8).

This winter camp project was suggested by the
brothers, missionaries, and pastors of four local churches in Israel. In their
opinion, the problem is that, as in many countries, experiencing immigration
and return to the historic motherland, children lack sufficient attention on
the part of their parents and adults in the new life environment. During the
settlement period and daily provision of families with the necessary financial
means and payment for the housing, there is no money left for recreation.
Children (and also the devil) take advantage of this situation. Kids plunge
into different indecencies and sin (sexual relationships, drugs, etc.). We are
aware that there is one camp in the center of the country, but it can’t
accept all willing to have a rest. That is why a camp in the South of the
country is a good idea!
The camp is supposed
to accommodate 35-40 kids and will be based in Eilat on the Red Sea shore. Warm
beach, trips to the historic places of ancient Israel’s passing through
the Sinai desert followed by the Bible studies will contribute to
children’s deep understanding of the truths of the Gospel and their
application in their lives. The evening time of group worship of God in singing
and prayer will create a good atmosphere for kids’ spiritual development
and good mood for further communication with their peers and instructors.
It is going to be a
mission camp. The local pastors and missionaries will put effort to bring
unbelieving kids from unbelieving families. It will be their first time in such
a camp and their first encounter with the new principles in life. We are asking
you to pray for them and for the organization of this camp in general.
As we know, not all
families can afford to pay for their kid’s camp. According to the local
brothers, a 10-day stay in the camp for a kid will cost 1,000.00, including
food, transportation, visiting historic places, etc. It is about $ 250-300,
which coincides with our prices. At present, we are preparing ourselves and
other instructors to minister to Israeli kids. We are also asking everybody
reading these lines to be participants in evangelizing Jewish children. Your
reasonable financial help will ensure the solution to the problem, which,
otherwise, is unsolvable for many families and children in Israel.

WE PRAY
|
Heavenly Father, please nurture the seed that has been
sowed so that the people who have heard your Word could be revived by It, and
thereby Lord Jesus would be glorified! Amen.
